Over my couple of months in training, I was taxed over $600. The training folks informed us we would get that all back when we filed our taxes. That is not correct. The city of Dayton tax form required to be filed requires a verification signature from PSA and the accounting folks refuse to sign it. So, you are basically out an additional $600+ dollars in Dayton City taxes and you will continue to pay Dayton City taxes until you fully complete training and arrive at your initial domicile. Don't plan on getting that $$$ back contrary to what they tell you in training. Add that to the initial $500 in uniform costs they hit you with right away and you essentially start off in the hole.
Good luck!
I got mine back after training without too much hassle. My accountant got it back, but not sure what she did.
As far as extra taxes go, if you are ever based in NY or CA, it will happen again and you will not get those back.
