Haven’t lectured a thing. The replies I made were to add to a counter perspective to the barrage of comments being made by some people that were basically saying SkyWest was a sinking ship and the worst regional on the planet. I think it is worth offering a different viewpoint for others reading this forum and thinking about coming here.

I am about to start Indoc and I have a TON to learn about 121 operations, how to fly a jet, how to work efficiently in a crew environment, and much, much more. My ears will be wide-open and my mouth silent as I learn a lot from those that have gone before me. And I’ll be supportive and have fun with the crew I work for when the work day is done. But I do know that SkyWest, while not perfect by any means, is a pretty decent Regional to work for with a pretty good chunk of employees that are happy. I am in close contact with about two dozen OO pilots (and 7 of them are very close friends) and all of them are generally happy. Again, SkyWest is not a utopia, but it is a decent place to be. Shoot me down all you want for that, but that’s my take.

After a full year on property and the newness wears off, if I find out I’m wrong, I’ll be the first to admit it right here and I’ll seek you out and buy you dinner and ship a case of great craft beverages your way. But until then, I’m moving forward with excitement for the opportunities to come. I still think the future is bright and can’t wait to embrace the things to come. And even though you’ll likely move on to greener pastures before I’m on the line, if we ever cross paths on a trip, I’ll buy you a beer regardless. Life is about making the most out of things, taking care of each other (crew), and having fun.
