Reason I ask is I’ve heard for example, MQ didn’t want to pay for the said software upgrade. I’ve heard some people going through training there say it can be a pita.

One PFD is sourced to the FMS, the other something else. On an ILS the PF switches to green needles while the other side is still magenta. When the PF does this it disengages the auto pilot, so he has to re arm the nav mode, he mentioned a lot more stuff in detail, just sounded like to me all this “automation” just makes life harder.

I’m jaded though, I’m coming from a Metro and I’m used to doing everything manually even though we have the ability to do coupled approaches in the Metro I’ve found it easier to just hand fly it.
