I get what you're saying.

One early AM winter departure where light snow had (quite obviously) fallen and accumulated, a JS'er nervously asked "you're not going to have to deice are you" as he looked at his watch. Even as the FO I promptly answered "absolutely". He looked over at the CA like a defense lawyer objecting and the CA's non-response clearly indicated it was over-ruled.

His commute plan all week had been one flight that got him in at report time with no room to spare. We also held for a turn or two as he squirmed in the JS. Ended up almost on time anyway and he bolted off.

Total face palm plan, even if it did end up "working" for him. PS or not I don't roll like that. If I'm down to my last $100 or so in retirement that I blew on an extra hotel I got bigger problems than that anyway.
