Without those bills, it would’ve been a massacre, even JetBlue would’ve been hard pressed not to furlough. Whether that happens next time is anyone’s guess. Again if you’ve been here for only a few years, the risk is pretty low. If we’re talking about 5-10+ years, which was questioned by many here when Covid first hit, I believe is a different story. You can disagree BD, that’s fine.
I agree with everything you’ve said. I’m 4th year Bus FO here and finally starting to make good money in this industry. Somedays days I feel like getting everything together and trying to start over at United, most days I don’t. I also drive to work here and have a side business…so it’s whatever. I know what my prospects are here: bus captain eventually that will sit short call for a long time. I’m at peace with my life. To each their own I guess. It seems to be all doom and gloom here at JB. It’s not a legacy, but it’s a good job. We’re all gonna land on our feet one way or another. The Spirit thing could shake things up and make it interesting. If not, we’ll probably get bought to cover some of these legacy retirements. Who knows.
