From ALPA's perspective(follow the $$$), if it paid out as a signing bonus ALPA gets their cut..... yes, I know it sounds cynical, and I'm not castigating ALPA by any means, but after safety, $$$ comes into play somewhere in the ALPA calculus.
Hopefully, I'm wrong
Well, you’re wrong, but don’t take my word for it. Only the Negotiating Committee can call a TA. I think you should call Eric Criswell and ask him if dues exposure is even a tertiary concern for him. While you’re there, ask him how many pilot labor groups have gotten full retro this far out from the amendable date.
