Any "Latest & Greatest about Delta?" Part 2
We're not quite sure why not hiring enough in 2025 means that we're short-staffed in 2026. But it's a complex operation. Also, we are gonna try even harderer to not make poor decisions. Plus, we hired like, one whole extra scheduler.

“23.M.7, never intended for consistent daily operations, is now being used 10 to 15 times more than last year.”
hmmmm…care to describe the whole arc of 23.M.7 use beyond just the last year? The company thought they found a loophole before this, and now look where they put us! It’s almost like they taught us how to game their own system to maximize money in our pockets.

A shocking display of some semblance of awareness:
Was the General right? 🤔
Our operation today is far more complex than it was 15 years ago, yet many elements of trip coverage, scheduling practices, and pilot access haven’t evolved at the same pace. We can’t rely on old structures and expect improved outcomes.

Lasting improvement depends on continued collaboration and a mutual commitment to developing solutions for today’s operation. Together, we have an opportunity to deliver a contract framework that more effectively supports our pilots, strengthens our operation, and positions Delta for long‑term success. We remain engaged in active negotiations with your union leadership and are committed to achieving meaningful improvements in the near term.

I'm trying to keep my job and openly blaming pilots doesn't seem to be working. I'll just lightly blame the pilots because I can't help myself while admitting we need to hire more pilots, hire and train more schedulers and update the outdated IT systems. I double pinky promise we are engaging with the negotiating committee. Anybody got a halon bottle for the Gummster fire?
