1. They're self insured.
2. They hire the administrator.
3. They set the policies and coverages.
...uhc/umr is just the middleman paid to obfuscate the issue and keep the company's halo intact with employee groups and the media (think the various best places to work lists and noncon anti union koolaid) while fighting the good fight on the ground against employees at every turn to absolutely minimize healthcare costs to the company.

All of it is the company's fault:
1. They're self insured.
2. They hire the administrator.
3. They set the policies and coverages.

Could be wrong though, the reason for my.opinion is just from talking to various groups. i hear the same things from places like the local doctor all the way to Mayo Clinic. the Mayo guys dont get worked hard, very normal professional interactions, and theyll take time to list it out for you. between payment, miscoding, AI interfaces saying no because theyre retarded, and no one there to take calls, something is wrong at umr/uhc that other places dont have with a similar setup.

Not sure which state you live in, but are there any laws that allow you to continue care with the doctors you've been working with at your previous rates? Some health care providers also allow you to negotiate self-pay rates that may be close to what you were paying or at least lower than Out-of Network costs.

I did use the search function but was unable to find it. Somebody posted a few months back the strategy how a lot of the same pilots have been getting multiple 23m7 in a month. Just put in a blanket white slip in every base for the whole month or something, does that sound right?
