Fortress hub is down to single runway departures. Hope the fog burns off soon.

IIR, they went to McDonald’s. You’d think they would have gone somewhere better given the effort and consequences.

A few weeks ago an AA pilot uploaded their paystub to social media and it went semi-viral. Seems like somehow AA managed to find a pretty coherent and easy way to show how they are getting paid. Why Delta can’t manage something as simple as this is a mystery.

Asked for the LOC turned on for rwy9L this morning and was told no?!? 73N. Their reasoning? Someone might dial the wrong localizer, 9L instead on 9R. Good thing we got that HUD for low vis takeoff /s. RVR was 800 and dropping for whatever it’s worth.

Of course if you cant hold summer/holidays the point is moot.

To be fair at one point it was even below CAT III. The dispatcher quoted me 100 RVR. I've never seen it that low in ATL. Luckily we were waiting it out on the ground at our departure airport since we conveniently had an autopilot MEL that limited us to CAT II. Not that it mattered too much because at that point no one was getting in, and once it was finally good for us it quickly burned off

737 AIII monitored HUD autolands to 30ft for the win!

(Con: I can't land without a HUD anymore. Also, where the heck is the gate?)

Default Higher ALV for Feb?

Hi - any theories why the ALVs (at least on the NB side) would have increased in Feb? Does that translate to more flying for everyone or higher percentage of folks on reserve?

They are doing more flying with less people. They said in the “Approach” podcast they would be “funding” growth by raising ALV’s. Generally, it means less flexibility and less reserve available (and thus more reserve utilization, unless you roll Thunder, which may be tough right now with IA’s > GS’s. )
