The best hilarity comes from not getting 1st for ocean crossing and having an agent not just not do anything about it, but actually refuse.

I watched an impasse between Tracking and. Redcoat go on for about 15 minutes while I sat off to the side not giving much in the way of “eff”ort.

In the end, I not only wound up with a seat, but they hung the delay on not just the agent, but the Redcoat as well.

Years ago in my 88 days, I actually had an RJ return to gate to pick us up. Same deal, arrived late, other side of airport in MSP, had to stop to pee. Watched them close door in our face. Called tracking asked what do you want now. Next thing you know jet comes back, much to the chagrin of the smug agents that had closed door in our face and then ran away when jet pushed.

Every time I’ve had a DH leave without me, my phone rings within a couple minutes of the gate agent’s close out with CT asking why I’m not on the DH. Sometimes they tell the plane to open the door, others they just rebook later. I think it depends on the continuity of the operation afterwards that determines how aggressive they want to get regarding a gate return.

Wasn't it back in the pre merger days that NWA had a crew on a turn in LAS, in a sorta protest for lack of food, take a cab, have a meal and then return to airport to fly causing a significant delay.

It was during that last NYC WX irop so they’re trying to use the wx exception. That’s nonsense because the DH went as scheduled.
