Well it appears the best providers in my area are dropping UHC. They cited the "inability to reach an agreement with them"
So now, I'm left with paying for insurance that pretty much can't be used in my area unless you want to go to the absolutely worst providers. My wife is presently undergoing cancer treatment, so her doctors notified us we have until June 1st to find another "provider". These are doctors that have been with her and treated her for the course of her cancer "journey". Now we have to pull chocks and go look elsewhere right in the middle of her treatment. Our health care sucks, it's a national disgrace this happens. I'm not going political here just stating that this insurance BS has got to stop.
I'm not sure what insurance I'm going to get as I am sure as he!! not setting her up with the far below sub standard practices in our area that still accept UHC. This is totally unacceptable for a fortune 100 company. I filled out my "survey" BTW and made sure to mention this. Unacceptable. Totally. Unacceptable. DALPA needs to get someone else for our DPMP. UHC is unacceptable.

to your point it’s unacceptable that our healthcare isn’t absolutely top notch from a fortune 100 company constantly touting how it’s the best place to work. We (and the rest of the employees) need to be lobbying for this imho. Best wishes HK!

I’d personally take world class healthcare over whatever short-term deal/pay raise we’re negotiating. My wife has a condition requiring long-term treatment and our insurance to be blunt, really sucks. I’ll leave it at that.
I know many don’t care because they or their families are generally healthy and just don’t think about it much. But I hope you don’t have to go through some of what we’ve been through with UMR/UHC. They’re awful and it’s a disgrace this is what we have here. It is in fact literally worse than what I had at my regional.

that’s insane. Im sorry that’s happening to you. I’m lucky to have a young healthy family on the HSA gold plan (left AF and had to get off tricare) but it’s a constant worry to think about navigating this stuff down the line when me or one of my family members gets really sick.

I've made some phone calls and have a meeting with her oncologist and the head of their patient services next week. I'm going to see if I can just pay them cash and not use UHC.
It's unsat, the amount of money I've spent every month on the DPMP and then when you need it, the insurance sucks so bad it gets dropped by the best providers. The head of patient services didn't mix words about dealing with UHC. I can't repeat what he said, but suffice to say UHC is garbage. A garbage company and a garbage plan. I use DPMP, was hoping they'd get someone else but I don't know if they are bound by who big Delta uses or not. If not, then DALPA needs to **** can UHC and go with someone else.
Plenty of better providers out there than UHC and probably for not much more cost. I'd be happy to make that up. Did the math on the total amount of money I've paid monthly over the years to DPMP and it's pretty staggering, but what's the point when the insurance you have is not accepted anywhere but he lowest of sub par scummy providers.
