It can be tough just given that CAL and XJT send a lot of deadhead crews between the two. That being said, sometimes the flights are packed (especially if weather is bad in IAH or EWR) and sometimes they are wide open (like 100 seats open on a 757). It's like any commute I guess in that it varies and can be unpredictable. Just don't be surprised if CAL's operation goes pear shaped and you suddenly see your self bumped down the list by 20 or so deadheads.
