That aspect is being pushed HARD. Any recent charm school class is told to make their welcome PAs from the forward entry door….and the OE LCA will corner you into doing it at least once.
I believe that has its place….such as, explaining to the folks why we are deplaning for a MX issue that just popped up, ground stop, why we returned to the gate…..etc.
That is a service to your cabin crew just as much as it is “Core 4”……but the guy who does it every flight is just an attention hound and reeks of IG DB.
Any LCA who tried to “corner” me into dancing like a circus chimp would be promptly removed and replaced. They can ask all they want, but I’m under no obligation to do that nonsense.
