Seriously, think hard about what happens if this is voted in. The name of the game for mgmt is keeping the hiring pipeline open long enough for the Aviate cadets to start flowing and once that happens you can forget about any meaningful changes in the contract ever.
This is the strongest negotiating position the pilot group has probably ever been in, and so I thought at least it would be a middle to bottom of the pack type contract. It is not. The point of organized labor is to protect the workers from cutthroat management. I’ll be honest I’ve never really understood the point of a union until working here. Voting this in doesn’t just hose you, it hoses everybody for years and years to come (assuming regionals are still around at that point).
This. Every airline needs pilots right now. If this is the best we can do in this environment the airline should, and most likely will, cease operations. I just can’t grasp why they keep saying they are “proud to present” this agreement. Should read something more like..we’re ashamed and you should vote no.
