SkyHigh,
I personally have no problem with you participating in these (or any other) forums. What I do have an issue with is you "preaching" your experience as an airline pilot as if it is the be all end all, particularly without making it clear that you have been out of the industry for several years now.
This industry changes on a monthly basis- sometimes even a span of a few days can significantly change the atmosphere of the industry.
I no longer offer my advice about regional airlines or major carriers to people who ask. Why? Because in the almost three years since I pushed back from a gate, a LOT has changed, both from an operational standpoint and a human standpoint.
I'll readily concede that you have had experiences that I have not. However your experiences don't necessarily apply to today's environment- a lot has changed since you hung up your hat.
There's nothing wrong with providing some counterpoint to all of these so called "18 year olds" who apparently don't have a clue. But along with that counterpoint you also need to be sharing the fact that you don't have anything near an insiders viewpoint of life at a carrier in the contemporary industry.
