If the Capt and IRO opt in but the flying FO doesn’t then the Capt can get 500 to give his leg to the IRO. So that makes the flying FO the bunkie for that leg. If the flying FO opts out and ends up non-current do to a life event, he is NQ and can go 60 days UNPAID. I can see some CRM issues coming out of this do to different wants and needs amongst 3 people. This should never have happened.
