Yup. 3.5 in and I highly doubt I leave (I was 100% leaving had it been F9, but now…) By the time this SLI gets done and between the amount of new hires added at BOTH airlines, it’s not going to be bad at all.
I also have zero plans or desire to go to 65 so I’ve got about 20 left. I was lucky to be hired here right when the flood gates opened. Moved up quickly and spent barely anytime on reserve.
Spirit/Blue is my 4th airline. I’m tired as hell of starting over every 4-5 years. Life is very good here and I do whatever I want in my life. We’re bidding for Sept. - it’s a formality. I’ll get the 2 main weekends off I need next
month for my annual buddies golf trip and my Chiefs home opener.
Last week some friends asked me if I could go boating with them. I had a 10 hour 2 day conflicting with it. I thought about it and realized summer will be over before too long and I’d sure as hell love to spend it all day Weds with them on the lake. Mid week so days were green and dropped it.
I’m not going to chase money and have my life go to trash because of it. That’s stupid. Yes I’m aware SOME guys have great schedules after only 1-2 years and SOME upgrade after 1. Great! Good for them. I’d rather not commute to NYC (love it and have family there) just to get decent seniority.
Finally, given the size of our merged groups it’s going to be getting paid like the airline it is. You get away with a lot of BS when your the size of Allegiant/Frontier/Sun Country, but you want to be almost the same size as WN (if all orders are taken), it’s going to have to be operated and paid like one.
So yeah, I could leave for a legacy, give up all QOL for a few bucks, only to be paid close to the same 2 years(Ish) from now. I’m good.
