Study the FOM when you get it but anything beyond that is a waste of time in my opinion until you learn what mesaba wants you to know about he aircraft.

As for systems knowledge it is more guided toward system management using the displays (eicas-you'll find out about this) then rebuilding the wheel like the last plane I was on Saab.
The systems knowledge does not go into the nitty gritty just what you need to know ie valve closed and you know it did because it is displayed on the eicas - why to hot.
Not valve closed because it exceed 208 degrees and used 200th stage bleed air to drive the flux capacitor closed in .2 seconds.
