Well that’s what I was saying in my previous post. The question isn’t how to attract regional pilots at this point. It’s hard to attract CFIs. Even the legacies are asking themselves this question right now. You all have much more leverage than you think.
The next year or two is about to get interesting. Will LCCs force the collapse of the regionals by hiring all the 1500 hour CFIs? Or will the regionals all meet LCC pay with promises of flow. Or will the legacies just staple their regionals?
My money is on the LCCs maintaining size and not growing and the regional market shrinking by 50%. And breeze not able staff all their shiny new 220s. I’ll also give the new startup connect about 6-8 months from their first revenue flight before they fold. Grab the popcorn.
