And even 25% would only approach parity with B6. Even lineholding CAs aren’t going to stick around for two years plus waiting for a merger in this environment. Management is going to have to get real. Even suggesting less than current JB rates threatens to start a stampede since less staffing itself will destroy QOL here.
25% would put me at nearly $300/hr. Higher than a 12 year delta 321 CA. That ain’t gonna happen. $25 would put me at $263.. which is within $5 of current delta captain in same seat and seniority. Much likelier than 25%. Not to mention 25% would put a new hire at roughly $76. $86 to start with $140 second year pay with a retention bonus will certainly keep and get some people here. Not saying the previous rumor is even true but $25/hr and a bonus to entice new hires to stay seems much more plausible to me. And if the deal goes thru then a new JCBA will have to and more than likely bring pay parity with the legacies.

and attrition will never stop. People will always be enticed by widebodies , legacy names, variety , etc. spirits on time performance has been decent this summer therefore attrition is hurting the bottom line with so many X lists being handed out , but the attrition has NOT put the company on the verge of total collapse. An LOA with respectable pay/bonus will make attrition slow no doubt, and seems like a necessary and logical step to bridge the gap until all this plays out. I am fully expecting to see something along those lines ..
