UAL LOVES that 550 but due to the new FAA passenger weight increase it has neutered the economics of the aircraft with the current scope limits. MGT has proposed a weight increase to the certified limit of the aircraft with UALALPA. There is no way that a relaxation of scope will work at UA so there is the rub.
I have no idea what the future will hold but wanted to shed light on what we see at the mainline side of the house.
