jesse once you get up to NY just ask around about crash pads. I know there are a few pilots that share a house, but there but plenty of crash pads to go around. Make sure to check it out first, many of them are bad. You will for sure get what you pay for. $200 will get you something that will work, yet $230-$250 will have internet acess Dish network. Or you can join the Comair homeless shelter on the couch in ops. Hell I think most new hires are going to CVG anyway. Comair is not as bad as people say it is, there are a lot worse places out there.
It nice to have a plan, but Big Foot is right, finding a crashpad is a word of mouth task. I sucked it up and paid for a hotel the first night and by the next day I had a crashpad in Queens.
