Just a couple of points to consider.

1. Nobody can definitively say how much the 1500 hour minimum has impacted safety. There are way too many factors to consider. Anyone who says they know, is wrong.
2. In a competition between a 750 hour civilian training program and a 750 hour military career (consider not only the quality of training, but the highly competitive selection process, and the experience gained by the time a mil pilot has 750 hours), I would take the military every time. (With an exception for rotorwing aviators. It's asinine that military helicopter pilots get the reduction to 750 hours.)
