Trip trading is still available to line holders. You have to use our archaic text dos based system, DECS/SABRE. If you know all the codes it's really not too bad, just tedious.
The challenge with our trip trade system is the staffing metrics used to determine if a trade is legal or not.
If staffing is deemed worse on the days you are trying to trade into it won't allow the trade. The N4TL code shows what all are legal trades with the trip you are trying to remove. Even if there are tons of open trips on the days you are trying to trade into if staffing is worse by one person you can't have it.
You also can't trade down the number of works days. So 4 day trips and only legal to be traded with a 4 day trip. You can always trade up. 2 day for a 3 or 4 day etc.
If you don't close out your trip trading program when you are finished by typing in HIN sneaky, unscrupulous, unethical Co workers can, have and will force trade with you, without your authorization. The company says by you leaving trip trading open you authorized it and won't pursue the thieves.
