Thank you, you’ve all been very helpful, and true, not very comfortable with the process. I’ve spent a lot of time in the SRH and unfortunately it is written on more of an intermediate level. A paint by number version should be written to help those of us who are less…. Van Gogh’ish.

As previously mentioned check to make sure you don’t have any AE or VD preferences entered. Your MD page should reflect all SEA categories that you would want, in preferential order. Then, on the same page below your SEA preferences, start listing your non-SEA preferences if you can’t stay in the base (unlikely unless you’re extremely junior.)

It sounds like you’re not 100% comfy with the way this goes down. I’d suggest getting into the Scheduling Reference Handbook and reading the examples to make sure you have a clear grasp of your options. A small screwup on an AE bid can have multi-year consequences.
