I've heard some people that are within reasonable driving distance to their base may drive an hour and hang out at a coffee shop to be within a "short call" distance of like 2 hrs and if they dont get called, they just drive back home.
Lastly, and I know it is heavily dependent on base, seniority, and time of the year....but when called out on reserve for a trip, are the trips usually day turns or are they longer in duration of like 2-4 days normally?
All the above my friend. 2-3 day trips, red eyes more than you want. LCR goes senior. SCR is 3 hours ready to run the before start checklist, so whatever that means for you. Sometimes you get called with 2-3 hours notice, other times it’s 5+ hours, varies
