Remaining silent on the issue is great (I would have been fine with that), but then the same group that Is on here wanking about this decision would be also on here wanking that SWAPA isn't doing anything. Look deep in your hearts. You know it's true. APA is advocating against the extension, which is directly opposite to our best interests. Should SWAPA remain silent in that case?

Anyone who thinks that the Max 7 being put off longer will somehow result in more leverage, think again. It would be at the very worst time for our contract when we are finally at a stage where we will see some progress. We don't hold the keys to the -7, the feds do. In 6 months, we will have overhired ourselves into a bloated and greedy pilot group. Anyone who has been here longer than three years has seen it happen once. How did that feel? Did it result in any sort of leverage for us to accomplish anything? We are hiring NOW for max 7 deliveries.

So yeah, I am not for SWAPA helping the company solve their issues. This isn't just the company's issue, though. It's OUR issue in a big way. If SWAPA remains silent, APA gets to be the pilot union voice on the matter even though they have zero stake in it.

As I have said above, anyone who thinks any pilot union is moving the needle on this issue is deluded. This issue has already been decided by the hundreds of outstanding orders, mainly for the Max 10. Union comms in the issue are mainly just noise at this point.
This guy is the voice of reason. Let’s not get too worked up about anything until the call comes from the Union to show up…..
