I’m surprised at how many people I have flown with who thought that November 1st was when we should see a new contract that we find acceptable. Hopefully more people realize that we’re starting over, that this is a long game, and it’s crucial for those of us who have been around a long time to help the newer pilots set realistic expectations. It’s time to play high stakes chicken. Are we willing to hold out for the right deal, or is Kirby willing to spend the money to ensure that United Next is staffed? We still have massive deliveries starting in a few months, disgruntled instructors and LCA’s, and unfilled captain and WB vacancies. I sure hope that we don’t flinch first.
We’re probably about to see a somewhat exodus from TK over this. Myself included. This is the talk of the halls these days…with many on the fence.
