Yep, this part of the airline is very broken. Hopefully that part of the "culture" will die forever during the integration of NK, but I can guarantee you without any doubt there is someone in a cubicle in NYC right now who's job it is to draw up a plan to get you guys to clean planes... Basically JB doesn't want to pay cleaners on turns. So they make the flight attendants do it. And then require non-revs to help the FA's. And call all of that "culture".
I don't know, I enjoy being Mr. Helper. I especially enjoy those cold winter nights when you find a nice bag of warm, thick and chunky, barf in a bag. It's all squishy and forms around your digits, warming them right up! The only thing that could make it better is if you get just a slight hint of the vinegary, barf smell. After I'm done carrying it around, I love to get me a nice cup of that delicious airplane coffee and package of Oreos! Do you guys have mugs on your airplanes?
Very excited for the JetBlue purchase and looking forward to drinking coffee out of a mug again on a transcon red-eye!
