I will also add that there are good examples in which you would want Crew Scheduling to call you outside of the “required notification period”. It may be to one’s advantage if they are commuting to the first day of reserve to take the notification of a front end deadhead assignment on day one and be able to deviate direct to the assignment. The contract just states when you are required to pick up the phone call.
