When they use a Mint spare to replace a non-Mint route/flight, they don't cater the aircraft or have any Mint trained FAs onboard. That is the reason they don't seat anyone in the Mint seats on a non-Mint flight.
I sorta get where that policy is coming from, but at the same time it seems somewhat foolish…
Preserve product integrity/image? Or use all available resources and maximize resource utilization? I would personally prefer the latter.
