The company has done this for many years for FAs. It would absolutely benefit pilot recruitment. It would also likely take a complete turnover of our current management team to ever occur.
The company small flight attendant bases are virtual. Some are seasonal and others have been closed and new ones opened. Delta can open new pilot bases anytime they want. They can’t however be virtual or seasonal. The management team was very receptive and had bid out the first virtual base for pilots in MCO. I presume you are new but the union shut it down before the test started.
