If they don’t stop the attrition, Spirit may not survive to the merger. They’re taking on a ton of airplanes and can’t manage what they have. Their cash position is the lowest it’s been since covid. They still haven’t turned a profit. It’s going to get ugly.

Skywest just cancelled a bunch of E-175s because they don’t have the personnel to fly them because they can’t keep CAs long enough to upgrade the next generation of FOs. The problem won’t be getting people to come to NK(despite the pi$$-poor training and first year pay), there will be plenty of low time FOs stranded when their regional folds, it’ll be keeping them at NK after their first year. For the senior Regional FOs not tempted to be DECs, after consolidation.
