At least United pilots now understand that they are in a fight. Hopefully, the recalls will be successful in ridding our MEC of these delusional reps who tried to sell concessions to the pilots in support of Insler's personal political aspirations and Kirby's United Next ambitions. That would strengthen our bargaining position enormously.

Kirby is a gambler with grand ambitions. He can manage without an agreement, but United Next depends on extraordinary training throughput that is unlikely without an agreement. Kirby can definitely ratchet his mainline growth plans back, but his regional feed is disappearing because of the pilot shortage. And, he realizes the pilot supply is a zero sum game.
