The early 5% underscores the reality that there is some urgency by the company to maintain the goodwill of the pilots. Whether there is enough urgency to produce a timely resolution to our contract negotiations remains to be seen, but if they didn’t care at all about keeping us happy, there would be no reason to accelerate the activation of this increase.
If there was real urgency they’d get the TA done yesterday. Reference how fast they can get a concessionary deal done when there’s urgency. This 5% (that was already ours) is their ability to make pilots think management is “doing the right thing” an AIP is coming real soon! And it’s working on you and others.
