A few issues. One, ALPA didn’t accept anything. This 5% was part of an LOA provision the company chose to exercise early. Their prerogative. Second, any leverage, real or perceived, is part of section 6, and has nothing to do with this loa. Thirdly, United is not struggling to attract pilots. This all has to do with United’s plan for United Next. You can’t sit over here claiming rainbows and kitty cats to the world while your pilots have pitchforks and gas cans. They need a happy workforce to go out and execute their plan for world domination.
