This take on management isn’t correct. Not vilifying management doesn’t change how much the market will allow us to pry from their hands, but it makes going to work more enjoyable. YMMV
They gave us this raise to save Christmas.
1) MD of Crew Resources put out a letter basically saying, “Surprise! We are putting more of you on reserve and raising the LPA!” Another 90 hour line, another Christmas on the road.
2) Council recalls happened shortly thereafter. Natives are getting restless.
It’s purely a play to placate us. They didn’t give us the raise because they truly want to value us. Heck, they could give us a 15% raise now while they hammer out the rest of the contract, if they wanted to.
