I agree that a lot of guys got used to the flaps being at 20 even before they taxi out, but that's why we use checklists, to prevent us from missing something. Attempting to take off with the flaps up shows that the crew is not using checklists at all.
Here's my questions:
1) Taxi check: "Flaps" How are both pilots missing that the lever is set to up and the indicator is at 0
2) Before takeoff: "Hydraulics" How is the f/o missing that half of the pumps are not on
3) Line up: "Takeoff Config" Now this is the easy one. Is the message there or isn't it? If it ain't, don't go anywhere.
I'm sorry, but I just don't understand how we're still screwing this up. I heard we're up to 16 times now?
