Don’t agree with this.

To say they don’t care because “they are replacing a higher wage pilot with a junior wage pilot” is not the full extent.

Spirit has to slow upgrades because we don’t have FOs to backfill upgrades. A CA leaves, you need to upgrade, that takes FOs, we don’t have FOs to spare. Compound that with new planes coming, we need CAs for new planes and FOs for new planes. So CAs leaving causes an FO vacancy for that slot and the CA upgrade for the new plane causes 2 FO vacancies, one for the new plane and one for the CA who will upgrade to that plane. Multiply that by x crews per plane, it has an effect.

Now sprinkle some Spirit into this; we are backed up with IOE for 3-4 months. Management is having to prioritize FO IOE first because as they said “we need those guys on the line,” so any CA upgrades are sitting home pulling their pud for months. So a CA quits, it will be months to replace that CA vacancy.

All attrition is bad for Spirit currently as it only causes another training event that they are backed up on. And CA leaving also causes a need for more FOs, which they are bleeding right now and….(see backlog point again)
