Because there are more ATP’s every year than retirements. There is no pilot shortage, there is only a shortage of pilots willing to work for outfits paying 30k a year.
How many of those places exist anymore with what the regionals have done with their pay structures? I would honestly say that the 135 outfits and part 91 departments for the most part have become the new regionals when it comes to crappy pay and work rules, or lack thereof!
