In that situation it’s not so much that they care if we go out of business. More so that if both companies are trying to merge to survive the fed would have a difficult time justifying blocking the merger.
Maybe they care about that in the public view. But you know damn well politicians are paid off, especially our current ones. If they need money to get the deal done then they’ll get it.
