IMO, the best gifts for someone who can basically buy whatever they want anyway are either consumables (a good whiskey, wine, etc) so they don’t clutter up the house, or something hand-made/unique. Bonus points if the booze is somewhat hard to find.

I’ll never not appreciate a gift but I don’t really need more stuff. I do really appreciate people taking the time to make something personal to me or find a really oddball alcohol or food or something.
