I don’t think anyone said anything about delaying flights. There’s a line of people waiting for oe at the moment backed up weeks. The company is simply removing them from the trip and replacing them with another fo. Certainly understandable why the company would want to do that. While imo it’s still wrong to remove someone from oe or stop them from consolidating just because there’s wind they are leaving, they are still employed by spirit and until the day they quit have the same rights as any other pilot here.
The sequence of events previously described sounded like a flight could get delayed or cancelled. For instance, let’s say during a flight from LAS to SAN turn, the FO says he has a class date with XX airline. Does the check airman stop the training when they get to SAN? If he did then the next flight would be delayed or cancelled. Somewhere down the line something would be affected, unless they waited until the trip was over to pull him off IOE.
