OK, thanks. This gets to the heart of the question, whether the "auto rest" function requires positive contact. I see it now after researching it in the PWA. It was a hard non fly day (golden day).

The schedule check following a rotation is required to determine if you were put to rest. If you were on a golden day, the contract automatically puts you to rest at 1200 the day prior if you were not on a rotation. That would give you 30 hours exactly. Not notification is required. Just like no notification is required if you were on two consecutive x days.
