Also, depending on how close the 3rd day is on coverage, sometimes you can get lucky and during the PCS run the day can become covered and the drop would go through so it's still worth inputing the drop if your desire is to be rid of the trip.
Always make sure you list the trip on the Icrew swap board which can enable someone else to snag it above their credit cap if that is what they want to do. The Icrew swap board starts immediately so often people can modify their skeds even before the 20th.
Lastly, if you want, twice a year you can place "individual vacation days" (IVD) on 1-4 days of the trip, but you only can do this routine twice a year for a total of up to 4 days so chose wisely. Whatever day you place your IVD on cannot be flown on going forward, including GS's. Those dates get paid as vacation (that you pick from a future vacation) and the whole trip is dropped.
Also, once a year you can drop an "authorized personal drop" (APD) on 1 to whatever the length of trip #days, but again, whatever days of a trip you designate as APD cannot be flown on going forward, including GS's. There is no pay/credit associated with an APD.
Lastly dropping a trip with a banked PB day is next level technique and there is a whole DALPA notebook message on the DALPA website laying out all the rules permutations.
do new hires get IVD as well or do e have to wait for our 1 year anniversary? Also, thanks for a very informative description of how I can rid of the trip
