Its actually both. Mesa is not happy with AA (AA stealing Mesa's base in DFW and PHX, and routes), and AA is not happy with Mesa (tons of MX delays/cancels). It was a mutual agreement to cut ties.
AA stole Mesa's DFW base??? Mesa only had a base in DFW because they were operating flights for American. It's AA's base to begin with. Mesa was just leasing it from AA.
