AA stole Mesa's DFW base??? Mesa only had a base in DFW because they were operating flights for American. It's AA's base to begin with. Mesa was just leasing it from AA.

Yeah, that's funny. AA owns the routes in DFW and PHX. Sounds like Mesa will be closing or severely shrinking their presence at both hubs. Come to think of it mx has already had a severe shortage of technicians in both hubs. Word has it it's so bad JO has resorted to Contractors to support maintenance functions at both bases with only a few Mesa employees to oversee them. Know your plane systems gents, that tech that shows up to your plane may not have much time /knowledge with that aerospace vehicle you're piloting.

Default Has anyone read the 10-K yet?

The agreement with United was finalized and is included as an exhibit. United will now own 10% of Mesa and have one member on Mesa's board. United will incur all the expense in converting 38 CRJ-900s for its use. Mesa cannot enter into any agreement with any other airline (except its current DHL agreement). Also Mesa now has a revolving credit facility with United, so United is both a shareholder and creditor of Mesa. So Mesa is now for practical purposes wholly tied to United. Interesting stuff. I guess the investors are generally feeling positive about this as the stock is now trading at $1.55 per share versus a low of $1.06 last week.

Naw, man, these contractors just live out of pickup trucks and travel around the country from random job to job. No aircraft-specific training whatsoever in most cases.
