Their smartest move would probably be to make a more generous offer to the pilots with the bulk of it back-loaded so it becomes Jet Blue’s liability, then pour money into IT and schedulers that can work all the new more fuel efficient aircraft 14 hours a day even if it requires a higher red eye premium.
Just because itd be smart doesn’t mean it’s what they’d do.
