Where did I say $5 is better than $2 or otherwise “good”? I’m merely pointing out the hypocrisy of some that demand inflation based wage increases when that same person were tipping $Y for a given service X years ago, and that $Y was appropriate in 199X, then based on their own logic, how is the same $Y appropriate now? By the same logic, you’re tipping less, which is completely fine but at least be honest with yourself that you’re tipping less. You can’t have it both ways.
