Just my two cents...
With the way jet fuel prices are, you are going to see alot of airlines cut back on flying.
With the economics of a regional jet that carries 50 seats making less and less sense, just imagine how little sense it makes to fly a regional jet with under 50 seats.
This is of course based on the leg length flown. So around 200 miles yeah thats a money trap and Saabs or Q's would make alot more sense.
jets on short runs are no good, tprops on short runs are good.
Jets on long haul are good and tprops on longer hauls are not so good. Simple as that.

Just my opinion though.
